NJOG acted as project managers and structural engineering consultants for the construction of a new two-storey extension and modern refurbishment of a 19th century building which is a listed structure and of Architectural significance. The project provides accommodation for 950 pupils and includes new technology rooms, music rooms, a reception area and a wide variety of teaching space. The existing buildings were re-roofed and the walls re-plastered externally while internally the fit-out comprised a variety of wooden, granite and marmoleum floors. The walling was a mixture of new build and retention of existing lime plastered walls. Existing Architectural features were also maintained. A new link building and external stairs were incorporated into the design to maintain an internal flow of staff and pupils within the school. The external link building was clad with coloured sheeting panels and a high spec CCTV security monitoring system was put in place.
