Client: Congregation of Dominican Sisters (CDS)
Value: €350k

N.J. O’Gorman & Associates acted as Project Managers, Structural Engineers and M&E Engineers on this project, which was the last stage of a major refurbishment scheme of the Dominican Ecology Centre accommodation. The heating plant that had pre-existed on site was outdated at that stage and it was in need of replacement due to its poor condition. The Client requested that a renewable source of heat be considered. After analysing the heat demand of the site and the pattern of usage of the heat NJOG recommended that a combination of a wood pellet boiler and a gas fired boiler would provide the highest economy and diversity. During the project NJOG also assisted the client in securing part of the funding of the project through the Sustainable Energy Ireland Biomass Deployment scheme.
